Sailing course for teenagers on Lake Garda

Have you already done a sailing course, but you are too old for Optimist? Do you already sail Optimist and you want a new stimulus? Or you don’t have any sailing experience and you don’t know where to start? The answer to all these questions is: Youth Sailing Course.

Our main goal is to make everyone passionate about sailing. This is why in 2019 we decided that we had to find a way to give teenagers an opportunity too.

Who is the youth sailing course for?

The youth sailing course for teenagers was created to give continuity to all those grown-up children who have already attended the Optimist sailing school and who, being older, have the need to sail on larger boats. But also for all those who let the opportunity slip away as children, and now want to make up for it: it’s never too late to start sailing!

The youth sailing course is open to all levels, both beginners and more expert. Our instructors assign different roles and divide the group in small teams, based on personal skills. We organize courses all summer, with minimum 3 participants and maximum 10. 

In one week’s course, beginners learn to enter/exit the water autonomously and safely carry out the basic maneuvers. The more experienced increase their independence onboard and improve their sailing technique.

How long is the sailing course

The youth sailing course is an afternoon course (from 14.00 to 17.00) and lasts 5 days, from Monday to Friday.

It is possible to take part in more than one course and we have promotional prices for who takes part in more than three courses.

How to register

Download the registration form that you find below, fill it out and send it back to us by email at race@fragliavela.org, or bring it to the office, together with:

• medical certificate (expiration date after the end of the course)
• child ID card and fiscal code
