Fraglia Vela Malcesine Sailing teams and athletes

From Optimist and Windsurf Techno 293 to the Olympic classes on Lake Garda

We have three sailing teams, divided in Optimist, Windsurf Techno 293/iQFoil and ILCA, and athletes that are sailing Feva, Waszp, 29er and the Olympic classes 49er, 49erFX and Nacra.

The Optimist team is for children from 9 year-old, who have done at least one year in the Gruppo Vela (sailing group, after the sailing school), and since 15 year-old or 50kg.

After Optimist they can choose between ILCA team or decide to go with the 29er, until they are 19/20 year-old.

Who wants to become a professional sailor try to enter in the National Federations teams or in the military groups.

Also before entering the windsurf team, kids take part in the pre-competitive group with the Techno 293. Every year they use bigger sails, reaching the 7.8 mq. sail. After that they can go with the RS-X, the olympic class, or try to new disciples, as freestyle, wave or slalom.
