Moth World Championship 2021, day 3: Australian top 3, one man in the lead<\/h1>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

A slightly subdued Ora compared to the first two days allows only 5 races; Slingsby in the lead again followed by fellow Australians Iain Jensen and Kyle Langford<\/h2>\n\t\t\t

After 2 perfect days, today in occasion of the first day of finals of the “Redoro Frantoi Veneti<\/a>” Moth World Championship<\/strong>, the Ora remained for only 5 races. Unfortunately, a 60 degree wind shift before the last race, third for the Silver fleet, did not allow to complete the entire program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of today the Australian dominance in the Gold<\/strong> fleet is consolidated, with 4 of the first 5 positions occupied by the \u201cdown-under\u201d superstars.
First in the rankings with 8 points the usual Tom Slingsby<\/strong>, with two first places and a second; trailing by 11 points is Iain Jensen<\/strong> and third at 29 is Kyle Langford<\/strong>.
First Italian in sixth place in the standings Ruggero Tita<\/strong> with 35 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Silver<\/strong> fleet, after only 2 regattas, we find Frederik Just Melson<\/strong>, Denmark in first place; second Luka Dogan<\/strong> from Croatia, and third David Smithwhite<\/strong> from Great Britain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ruggero Tita<\/strong>: “It was a difficult day because the Ora was not the classic<\/em> one; I need to work on my starts but I’m happy with my speed. In the third regatta, unfortunately, just before the start I got off from the foils and was forced to a comeback race; luckily these are the conditions for which the boat is optimized so I am happy with the results obtained today \u201d.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The day ends at the Fraglia Vela Malcesine with the \u201cRedoro<\/a> Aperitif<\/strong>” and the \u201cNorth Sails<\/a> Pasta, Beer & Fries party<\/strong>\u201d, social event that concludes this first day of thefinals of the\u201c Redoro Frantoi Veneti \u201dMoth World Championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tomorrow warning signal at 1 PM; in the evening there will be dinner at the Speck Stube in Malcesine.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
