Antonio Pascali and Lorenzo Ghirotti are the winner of the 11th Edition of the Ilca Youth Easter Meeting 2024<\/h2>\n\t\t\t

A spectacular start of the 2024 Regatta season at Fraglia Vela Malcesine! Almost 350 boats on the starting line of the Ilca Youth Easter Meeting, the classic Easter event for the Ilca 4 and Ilca 6 classes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lorenzo Ghirotti and Antonio Pascali are the winners in the ILCA 4 and ILCA 6 classes respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Great participation also for this 11th edition, with 25 nations<\/strong> represented from all over the world. The most present nations were Denmark, Germany, the Scandinavian countries<\/strong> and of course Italy<\/strong>. As well as numerous non-European athletes from Australia, the United States, Brazil and Bermuda<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to the difficult weather conditions, it was not possible to complete the program which included 10 races to be run over the four days. 6 races were completed by the ILCA 4 class, while 7 by the ILCA 6, who had the opportunity to race in the Gold and Silver fleets on the last day of the regatta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Difficult weather conditions, with rain and Peler even during the afternoon, characterized the first three days of the regatta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heavy rain and light wind, which then dropped during the afternoon, forced the Race Committee to end the first day with nothing happening for all four fleets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two races were completed by all four fleets on the second day of racing. Regular departure at 1pm, despite the weather conditions with rain and an afternoon Peler of around 10 knots, which then dropped to such an extent that no further regattas were possible for the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Ilca 4 class, Erik Scheidt<\/strong> (Fraglia Vela Riva) moved to the top of the rankings with a 1st and 2nd place. Followed by Vanja Ramm-Ericson<\/strong> from Sweden and the American Davide Bazzoni<\/strong>, who both finish tied with two victories of the day!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Swede Julius Graudums<\/strong> ends the day in 1st place in the overall rankings of the Ilca 6 class, followed by the Belgian Anders Bultnyck<\/strong>. Federico Cittadini<\/strong> (Club Vela Portocivitanova) closes the provisional podium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two races completed for the ILCA 6 class also on the third day of the regatta, which allowed the discard to take over and compete in the Gold and Silver fleets on the last day of the regatta. Last year’s winner Antonio Pascali<\/strong> (Fraglia Vela Riva) takes the lead in the ranking, followed by Dario Burlando<\/strong> (Yacht Club Italiano) and Federico Cittadini<\/strong> (Club Vela Portocivitanova).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A single race instead for the ILCA 4 class, keeping the provisional ranking unchanged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To conclude the regatta in the best possible way, first warning signal at 9 am with 3 races completed by all four fleets, which crowned Lorenzo Ghirotti<\/strong> (Fraglia Vela Riva) as the overall winner in the ILCA 4 fleet. Second step of the podium for the Hungarian Benedek Heder<\/strong>, followed by Erik Scheidt<\/strong> (Fraglia Vela Riva). Amber Knape<\/strong> from Holland instead takes the first place in the U16 women ranking. Home athlete Matteo Bulgarini<\/strong> closes the regatta at the foot of the podium (4th).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Antonio Pascali<\/strong> (Fraglia Vela Riva) triumphs in the ILCA 6 class with five victories of the day, followed by Dario Burlando<\/strong> (Yacht Club Italiano). Alessandro Cirinei<\/strong> (Fraglia Vela Riva) closes the podium. 1st female U17 Hanna Rogowska<\/strong>, 1st female U19 Isabella Mendoza Cabezas<\/strong>, 1st female U21 Giorgia Bonalana<\/strong> (Fraglia Vela Riva).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the great success of the 2022 Edition, the traditional Easter regatta dedicated to the Ilca 4 and Ilca 6 classes returns to Malcesine. From the 5th to the 8th of April 2023, 348 athletes were lined up on the starting line of the Ilca Youth Easter Meeting. Vassilis Koukoudis and Antonio Pascali are the winners respectively in the ILCA 4 and ILCA 6
